Class of Excellence (CoE)

What is the CoE?

The Class of Excellence (CoE) challenges and promotes the best and most promising students in the first year of a bachelor’s programme. The objective of the CoE is the establishment of a group of dedicated and successful students who strongly identify with the Faculty and who represent the Faculty as “ambassadors” to the outside world.

During Welcome Day 2017, the members of the 2017/2018 Class of Excellence presented themselves to new entrants to the bachelor’s programme.

Selection of Members

We select the candidates – after they have successfully completed the introductory and orientation period (STEOP) – on the basis of their average grades, contact them and give them the opportunity to apply for the programme. A membership requirement is that candidates are prepared to take part in events and take on tasks.

From the Welcome Day (beginning of the winter semester) onwards, the members of the CoE are offered a generous programme, including excursions to renowned Austrian and international companies as well as workshops preparing the participants for professional life.

The members of the Class of Excellence are supported by the Faculty and have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of events and workshops.  In return, they are obliged to participate in five selected events and to write at least one contribution for the Faculty’s media portal. For instance, this could be in the form of a report on an excursion, an interview with a professor of the Faculty or an interview with a guest of the Faculty.
