Significant Contributions Award für A. Diamantopoulos

Die American Marketing Association vergibt den Preis an Wissenschaftler*innen, die mit ihrer Tätigkeit einen maßgeblichen Beitrag zur Forschung im Bereich des Internationalen Marketing geleistet haben. 

Der diesjährige Significant Global Marketing Award zeichnet Adamantios Diamantopoulos, Lehrstuhl für Internationales Marketing, für seine bereits über vier Jahrzehnte lange Forschungsarbeit aus. Die wissenschaftliche Tätigkeit des Professors umfasst ein breites Themenspektrum, von Exportstrategie bis zu methodenbezogenen Beiträgen. Den Einfluss seiner umfangreichen Forschung belegt die außergewöhnlich hohe Anzahl an Zitierungen, welche Google Scholar mit über 40.000 bemisst. Eine aktuelle Analyse im Journal of International Marketing weist Adamantios Diamantopoulos zudem als Top-Autor des Journals zwischen 1993 und 2019 aus.

Neben seiner Forschungstätigkeit betreute der Professor auch zahlreiche PhD-Studierende auf ihrem Weg in eine internationale wissenschaftliche Karriere.

Die Jury des Significant Contributions to Global Marketing Award setzt sich zusammen aus bisherigen Preisträger*innen, aktuellen und ehemaligen (Co-)Redakteur*innen des Journal of International Marketing sowie weiteren anerkannten Forscher*innen. Das diesjährige Auswahlkommittee bildeten Bodo B. Schlegelmilch (WU Wien), Nicole Coviello (Wilfrid Laurier University) und Peter Magnusson (University of Alabama).

Der SIG Award wird bei der 2021 AMA Global Marketing Conference in Taormina (Italien) überreicht. Die Fakultät gratuliert Prof. Diamantopoulos sehr herzlich!

Adamantios Diamantopoulos receives Significant Contributions to Global Marketing Award

The American Marketing association honors a scholar who has contributed significantly to the field of global marketing.

In 2021, Adamantios Diamantopoulos, Chair of International Marketing, is the recipient of the 2021 Significant Contributions to Global Marketing Award. He has contributed to the field of international marketing for over four decades. His research spans from export strategy to methodological contributions. The impact of his research is reflected in his exceptionally strong citation record, he has been cited well over 40,000 times in Google Scholar. In a recent Journal of International Marketing analysis, he also has been identified as the most prolific contributor to the journal between 1993 and 2019.

In addition to his research activities, the professor supervised numerous PhD students on their way to an international scientific career.

The recipient is selected by a jury of past winners of the Significant Contributions award, current and past editors/co-editors of the Journal of International Marketing, and other distinguished academics. This year’s selection committee was comprised of Bodo B. Schlegelmilch (WU Vienna), Nicole Coviello (Wilfrid Laurier University), and Peter Magnusson (University of Alabama).

The Significant Contributions Award will be presented at the 2021 AMA Global Marketing Conference in Taormina (Italy). The faculty congratulates Prof. Diamantopoulos!
