Programme outcomes

Students of the bachelor’s programme in Economics gain knowledge of the fundamentals, theories, methods and quantitative methods of economics and are familiar with their applications and developments.

Investigating and analysing economic issues and interrelationships are important aspects of the programme. In combination with a profound knowledge of methods and theories, students acquire a high level of problem-solving competences.

We recommend a stay abroad.

Fields of activity

Graduates of the bachelor’s programme in Economics are able to observe and interpret economic interrelationships. The discipline of economics aims at formulating general rules and recommendations for economic policy. Therefore, graduates often work as political advisers.

Banks, insurance companies, public administration and business journalism are other potential fields of occupation for graduates of this programme. In addition, many economists work for economic research institutions or as academic staff members at universities.

Personal requirements

If you would like to enrol on the bachelor’s programme in Economics, you should enjoy mathematics, have a good command of English and be interested in exploring general economic issues.

In addition, it is important to be able to adopt an interdisciplinary approach. If you would like to know whether environmental protection and economic growth are compatible, whether the pension system can be maintained in the long term, whether tax reductions could contribute to reducing unemployment and what “scarcity” means, the bachelor’s programme in Economics is the right fit for you.
