General Information – Student representatives (ÖH)

The Österreichische Hochschüler*innenschaft (ÖH) supports students in various ways. Its scope stretches from advising on student rights and organisational concerns to the organising of events and representation in commissions creating new curricula.

The ÖH-Elections take place every two years and every student has the right to vote on three levels (Student Representatives, Faculty Representation, University Representation). It is possible to vote for nominated candidates from the field of study and for the university and national level candidates nominated by the parties.

Student Representatives International Business Administration (I-BW)

Our student representatives from International Business Administration advise students, support them when they face problems with their lectures, lecturers, professors, and represent their interests in committees.

If you are interested in actively participating and representing students to enhance your student life, feel free to contact us.

Our main focus is advising students about organisational matters regarding their studies, representation of student interests in commissions and conferences and the organisation of events.

As we are participants of many commissions, we represent student interests for instance whenever a new curriculum is created. Additionally, we represent the student body at the Study Conference and at the Faculty Conference. When there is a call for a new professorship, we members of the student representatives are dispatched to participate in the appointments committee.

Apart from that, we are constantly planning events such as the welcome-week for freshmen, panel discussions, seminars, partys, etc. You can find more information on our website.

We additionally provide learning materials. If you have any material (transcripts etc.) to share with your colleagues, we are happy to accept it during our office hours.

Representatives

Our team consists of five elected representatives who do not belong to any university party. There is a large team of volunteers who support us.

Student Representatives Statistics

We, as your student representatives Statistics would like to help make your studies easier to manage. If any problems or questions arise regarding the statistics studies, you can contact us anytime.

Apart from our studies, we organise various events. In cooperation with the faculty representation we organise the welcome day for our freshmen where new students have the opportunity to get to know each other and network.

Once a month we organise our statistics regulars table, where we sometimes invite professors and ask study relevant questions. Our students enjoy participating at our Christmas party in the winter semester and our yearly barbecue which takes place in the last weeks of our summer semester. During both of the events students, professors, and alumni are welcome and invited to get to know each other apart from the lecture hall.

Send us an e-mail (strv.statistik@univie.ac.at) or visit us during our office hours!
